Welcome to RJG Advocacy
At RJG Advocacy, Annie McDonald, founder, is passionate about empowering families and educators to advocate for the best possible outcomes for students. Developing and maintaining an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is a complicated process. With a deep understanding of special education, Annie works alongside clients to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
Why do I need an advocate?
Do you ever sit at an IEP meeting and feel confused, frustrated or overwhelmed by all the information and paperwork?
Is this your first time you’re experiencing the IEP system?
Do you feel like your child’s services and accommodations reflect their needs?
Do you feel like the school could be doing more, but don’t know what to ask for?
Sound Familiar?
If any of these questions rang true for you, you may benefit from having an advocate on your side. Schools and teachers work hard to create plans that meet each student's individual needs. However, you know your child best, and your input is essential. Having someone who understands special education law, policies, and best practices can be invaluable. Whether it’s attending IEP meetings with you or helping you prepare, I can support the development of an effective individualized education plan.
I can guide you through each step of the IEP process, draft goals based on team-collected data, suggest necessary accommodations and services, and serve as the expert on your side of the table. In my experience, students with IEPs have the best chance of success when parents and schools collaborate effectively. I can help bridge the gap between what your child needs and what the school can offer through a well-developed plan.
